Best WOW Guides
Today’s Best WOW guides differ greatly from the first guides that were available for World of Warcraft many years ago. Not long ago, guides were provided in the form of physical books or ebooks, which made it necessary for players to constantly switch back and form between teh game and the guide, slowing down progress greatly and in many ways defeating the purpose of the guide.
That all changed with the advent of a new kind of guide known as “In-Game” guides. These guides are presented inside the game, utilizing an in-game window that displays the information contained in the guide. Efficiency was improved further with the addition of in-game arrows and waypoints that showed players the way to the next questing spot. Using this new generation of WOW guide, players have been known to breeze through quests and level characters at new record paces.
After doing some research, two in-game guides stood out as being a cut above the rest, and they will be discussed in this article.
First, there is Zygor’s Guide, an in-game guide that displays quests in a expandable window that gives you a quest order to follow and tracks progress automatically. Arrows within the game point you to where you need to go, and the quest sequence is designed to knock off the maximum number of quests in the minimal amount of time. To use this guide, it is a good idea to get large bags since you will be away from town for long periods as you knock off quests one by one. You will not find it unusual that every time you return to town, you will have 3 or 4 quests to turn in, if not more. For a full review of this guide, check out the Zygor’s Guide Review page which also provides a link to a free trial.
The second guide we recommend, Dugi’s Ultimate WOW guide, is very similar to Zygor’s guide and has many similar features, such as the quest window that recommends an optimal questing sequence. This guide includes an floating arrow above the player that shows you where to go next. I like this guide since it comes with extras such as a gold guide and pvp guide, but I did find it a bit more buggy than Zygor’s guide. For a full review of this guide, check out the Ultimate WOW Guide Review page which gives you a link to access the first 20 levels of the guide for free.
While using an in-game guide is not necessary, you will find that your leveling speed will increase dramatically. Our testing showed that on average, we were able to level at least twice as fast as we would have under normal game conditions. We also noticed that by using a good in-game guide, enjoyment of the game increased since many of the frustrations of the game went away (such as not being sure where to go next, or where to find the location of a certain quest).
