Appreciating The Guitar
Gaining a respect for what musical instruments can bring to life is easy to do once one takes a few minutes to look at what something like a guitar does in somebody’s hands. Not only is something like a guitar shapely and beautiful, but it also produces melodic noise that is possible even from the fingers of someone who’s never really appreciated music before deciding to give playing it a try.
For example, think for a minute about how really popular a dreadnought acoustic guitar is among certain musicians. This is especially the case when it comes to any singer-songwriter, no matter his or her fame or popularity. Because the guitar is portable and can be carried anywhere, most any musician can pull one out and work out a chord progression that may have just popped in his or her head, for example.
This is actually the real beauty of just about any guitar, because that portability means that it is easily carried around in a case or a bag, on one’s back or at one’s side. And it’s generally one of the more portable instruments out there, and certainly more so than a grand piano or drums, though this isn’t a criticism of those two types of musical instruments. However, guitars have brought music to the masses for over a century now.
Nowadays, there are more manufacturers of guitars out there then make most any other kind of musical instrument. A typical Alvarez acoustic guitar, for example, can be found in more music stores then a typical brand-name tuba or other traditional band instrument, as a matter of fact. Keep in mind that guitars are not only fairly easy to learn to play but also fairly portable, and one gets at least one part of their enduring popularity.
And it actually doesn’t really matter what kind of music is going to be played when it comes to a guitar because just about every kind or style, including classical and jazz, can be played fairly easily with a guitar. So, whenever somebody gets the itch to learn to play music, they could do worse than to consider picking up a guitar and learning to play it even just a little.
Always keep in mind that learning to play music is always easier when the instrument that is being learned is well-made. With even department stores carrying guitars these days, it might be better to spend a few extra dollars on something like a Takamine acoustic guitar that will play nicely right out of the box rather than to try to work around a department store guitar that is probably cheap and difficult to play well.
Gaining the respect for what musical instruments can bring, therefore, begins to happen almost as soon as one looks at the instrument and then picks it up. Guitars, because they are relatively easy to learn to play, have been popular among the masses for going on a century now. And well-made ones really make the task of learning to play music much easier than almost any other instrument, and that’s a beautiful thing.

Music Games On The DS
With Band Hero on its way and released already in America it is also going to be released for the DS, but is the demand really here at all?
Well when it was announced that Guitar Hero was on its way to the DS there was actually a bit of excitement as it was the first time that a game like this had made its way onto a hand held console. This game actually came with a lot of problems.
The big problem with all of this is that the controller attachment for the console has not been designed very well so it actually hurts to play after a while. It has still not been proved that if you were to play this game all the time that it would actually damage the hands but when it gets to the point where you have to stop playing because of the pain then you know something isn’t right. Other problems like not being able to pick a favorite guitar like the Gibson Les Paul Junior
When the drums came into the equation then it started to get a bit better as you were not damaging yourself during play however it did seem a bit pointless because you didn’t need the add on you could have just used the screen.
With Band Hero on the way with still no way of playing it on the newest console the DSi, have they really bothered to add extra features or just throw together a very tacky game? The only feature that they have added to this new game is the ability to sing and this is not going to please anyone as is likely to annoy them more than anything.
How long is it before they start to introduce silly things like DJ equipment and one of those bass guitar amps.

Is DJ Hero really going to be taken seriously?
With the huge successes that Guitar Hero has bought Activision have announced the new DJ Hero which is set to be released in October of this year. The question is will it be a fat boy hit or will it fall into the ever growing forest of games that we certainly wouldn’t mind giving up for lumber jacking.
With major artists like Black Eyed Peas and Eric Prydz being put on the game it is hard to see it won’t at least attract the crowd who are into that type of music. Fans of the current Hero series are very unlikely to buy this as the music in the game is the complete opposite. Not only this a poll done on a popular gaming website has shown that the majority of people do not actually want or even care about this game and to be honest it is completely understandable as playing in a rock band is a much higher dream than being a DJ.
The rea big problem that Activision faces is the gamers themselves. They have actually done very well for themselves over the pst few years with huge titles like Assassins Creed and Call of Duty under thier belt it would be a great shame to see thier hard work go to waste on something like this if of course it doesnt do well. It is a face that there are far less DJ's out there than instrument players so less people are bound to buy the game.
Although it does actually sound like a good idea when put on paper, is it realy going to work in the same way that Guitar Hero did. Perhaps game developers should start making games for gamers again and not for the people that haven’t touched a game in their lives, a lot of people would rather buy the proper DJ equipment and DJ software than buy this game but until release date of October it is hard to say for sure how well this game will sell.
Of course if you are already a DJ headphones are very important and it is always good to have a pair that protects your ears when performing.

For many people being a famous rock star has always been a dream hasnt it? Since the release of the very first game it has enabled people to do just that. For many people there was no longer any need trying to learn how to play the guitar when all you had to do is plug in a controller to the Xbox 360 and away you go! Of course Guitar Hero is not as satisfying as a real intrument (it isnt supposed to be) but it has certainly made its mark on the world enabling people to play thier favourite songs from the comfort of thier own living rooms.
There are now giant names to the GH name such as ACDC and Metallica to allow thier fans to play all of thier best love songs all on one game.
With the new drums and microphone being added to World Tour it enabled fans to actually form a full band either in thier living rooms or over Xbox Live so it felt like a much more realistic experience.
it s also certainly true to say that there are many bands out there that cannot stand the product and insist that fans should refuse to buy it and take up playing a real instrument. There is of course no better alternative than actually playing a real instrument which is something that the game understands but what bands do not undertand is how much time and effort needs to be put in to actually learn an instrument.
But for people who have always been interested in being a DJ then DJ Hero is on its way for you. Of course buying all your own DJ equipment and DJ software is expensive and not to mention hard work, could Activision have it right again with this or are they simply going too far?
Of course if you already are a DJ why not purchase some Behringer headphones to make those ears a it safer when you are playing a set.
