Hi and welcome to my world of warcraft guide about leveling a hunter in WoW. Leveling doesn’t only take too long, it’s also frustrating and mind-numbing. It’s not even fun. We all just want to hit the max level ASAP.

And that’s exactly what my Hunter leveling article is all about. Let’s head on to my 5-step guide to increase the leveling speed of your Hunter:

1) Choose the best talent spec for your Hunter. In my opinion, the most effective way to level a hunter is the Beast Mastery spec. One advantage of the beast mastery leveling spec is that it doesn’t depend on gear in order to work – you can deal huge damage with your pet alone. This way you can easily fire from the distance while your pet tanks the mobs.

2) Support your bread and butter abilities with Glyphs. Always get them in advance. The wrong way is to wait until you can equip the glyph and then travel to the auction house to purchase it. Always carry them in your bag to be able to equip them as soon as you hit that level.

3) Get a decent gear. I’m not talking about expansive blue items from the auction house and I’m not talking about dungeon loot. Going for those items will either waste your time or waste your gold. A green gear with lots of agility and stamina will do.

4) Only go for solo questing. Yeah, it’s less fun that visiting dungeons with all the exciting encounters and the loot. And of course groups are more exciting than completing all the quests on your own. But the truth is that solo questing is just the fastest way to finally hit the level cap and start enjoying the endgame.

That’s why I want to share my favorite leveling strategies with you:

First of all you have to spec your character with a proven and effective leveling spec! Don’t trust your gut feeling when it comes to leveling builds – The right build will save you a few seconds in every fight – all in all that are a loooot of seconds.

Now, can you imagine how much time you would save when you could kill off every enemy just a few seconds faster? You kill thousands and thousands of enemies while leveling to 80.

The best build is one that emphasizes the strength of your character. For example, the Mage is an excellent damage dealer, especially AoE damage. The Frost build focuses on this AoE damage and enables the Mage to take down up to 10 monsters at the same time!

The second leveling strategy is to support your talents with the right major and minor glyphs. All leveling specs focus on one aspect of the character class and some key abilities – focus your glyph power on those bread and butter skills. Boosting their power will result in even easier fights where you can save another few seconds.

The last and probably most important tip is this: Get yourself a proven leveling guide! I can’t underline enough how important this is. The add-on will show you the perfect questing path from level 1-80 so that you only do the best quests with the most rewards and don’t have to run around in circles ever again.

First Option – Solo Questing

This traditional approach is all about doing normal quests outside the Dungeons to level up. This way is also the more difficult approach. Priests are by definition very fragile and do not deal a lot of damage.

If you want to do this I recommend you to stack Stamina and get a proven Shadow leveling talent spec. This way you will increase your survivability and at least deal as much damage as you can.

Of course you always need to get the best glyphs to increase the efficiency of your spells. And try to get a gear that fits your level – a green one with lots of stamina should be enough. Inexperienced players waste a lot of gold on blue items that they actually wear only for a short period of time.

Killing mobs while in a party with other players will result in faster kills but lesser exp/mob.

Option 2 – Dungeon Leveling

Since a while there’s a second way to level up and it’s called Dungeon leveling. It focuses on completing all the quests in a Dungeon and basically visit every Dungeon there is in the game. Than you need to get a well balanced and experienced group and enter one dungeon after another.

Find the perfect group with seasoned players and you might as well level a bit faster than with normal questing. And – that’s the best thing – since you are playing a healing class you will always be able to find a spot in a group.
