Learn How To Speed Up Computer Software
Over time, you’ll notice that your computer slows down: browsing the internet becomes slower and programs, files, folders and other tasks take more time to open. But, there are things you can do to speed up computer software.
Below is the list of tips and procedures to improve computer speed. This list aims to be used in order as it aims to give you the simplest and least technical process until your computer responds better:
{Improve Your Hardware} – Before doing any modifications to your operating system, ask yourself if your computer have sufficient hardware to run my operating system properly. You can blame computer slowdown to several things, but if your computer is running operating system and programs that are far advanced that its technology, it is best to go for hardware upgrade.
{Clean Your Desktop} – The basic rule is that the more icons you have on your desktop, the slower will be for your computer to respond during operations. While you can delete files from your desktop and do good (hopefully) for your computer, take note that what you have just removed are the shortcuts to the programs and files.
If you think that you will not use some programs installed in your computer, do not hesitate to remove them. Deleting unimportant and unused programs not only free up some disk space but also free up your RAM.
{Scan your computer for system errors, virus, adware, and spyware} – Different files and programs are necessary for your operating system to run. {Over time, it is likely that these files become corrupted}. It is also possible that your os gets infested by viruses, adware and spyware. If your computer slows down significantly, it may be caused by any of these. {You can either use the utility called “System File Checking”, which will inspect the files and repair the problem it finds; or run an anti-virus, anti-spyware, or anti-adware to check and contain any malicious content of your pc}.
{Disable Windows Visual Effects} – Different Windows operating systems offer visual effects to use exciting, fun, and different; however, these also needs a lot of RAM to run and can be the cause for your computer to slow down. {To adjust or disable this feature, follow this sequence: Control Panel, System and Maintenance, Adjust Effects or Performance (depending on your Windows Operating System)}. {You have 4 options: Let Windows choose what’s best for my computer (the default setting), Adjust for best appearance (all effects are enabled; this setting requires the most amount of operating memory), Adjust for best performance (most effects will not be used), and Custom (where you can adjust and select the setting you want to use)}.
Once you have exhausted all these procedures but you are still unable to speed up computer software, it may be the right time to reformat your os and program.
