Has advertising been taken too far?
Advertisement is a part of life. Everywhere you go there is an advertisement of some kind whether it is on the bus, on the internet, in video games and in even in schools.
Advertisement in video games is certainly something that is not unheard of but it has seen a rise over the last few years. The first game to actually feature an “in game” advertisement was way back in 1978 and was called Adventureland. The advertisement itself was merely showing off the next game that was on the way by the maker of Adventureland itself.
Football games were one of the first big games to recieve “in game” advertisments. Now games featuring cities in which you can explore like Prototype are using in game advertisements as well as shooters like Ghost Recon. Splinter Cell even had a giant billboard advertisement that you couldn’t avoid seeing as you had to climb over it.
Schools are the one that has always caused a big debate but advertisement has been around in schools for many years. The real question to ask is are corportate companies just trying their luck in a new sector or trying to almost trick the younger people into buying their products?
The corporate world has managed to infiltrate the education system in a number of ways:
- Educational posters can actually contain adverts for candy.
- When the school lunch is served, brand name foods are sometimes given out with the name being plastered all over the food serving process.
- Some school busses actually have advertisements within them so even before and after school the children can not escape the power of big corporate companies.
- More recently and perhaps most worryingly we have begun seeing sponsored lessons taking place within schools, with subtle and not so subtle branding taking place within the lesson plans. This does not sound too different to the times of Nazi Germany in which the dictator Adolf Hitler forced people to read and write about the Nazis, does it?
There are a wide range of advertisements around the globe, ranging from Print management to branding. sign printing are now even used for advertisements when a company is hosting or attending a certain event.

Recommended Popular PC And Online Games Blogs All Over The Online World
Game blogs are enjoying a nice exposure lately, many people love to share their mind regarding games and interesting game niches. While the wellknow reviewing sites such as gamespot and IGN offer interesting game reviews and previews, sometimes we miss the personal look of the gamer.
This is why I prefer reading game blogs that offer pc game walkthrough and flash game updates. One of my top leisure activities is searching the Internet for interesting blogs that have a nice and different view of the game niches.
The proper online games blogs offer PC and online games news that explore and show the new trends in the gaming world, they also offer reviews of active games, but my personal favorite are game walkthroughs that help you overcome annoying levels.
A very nice blog I stumbled into is shadee.org.uk , this blog contains lots of alternative content, like vampires, fantasy, heavy metal and many other things. The writer is a fan of anything that has a different side and doesn’t limit himself to games, you will find other media material, music and generally anything that has a different look.
A nice question that many people ask is what makes blogs so popular on internet users- content writers and the readers. Well, on the readers side, everyone loves reading unique and original content ( search engines like it also), whenever we find a new content on the web becomes very popular quite fast.
On the writer side, many writerrs are using the Internet as a place to share their ideas and thoughts and get feedback from people from all over the net, some might even say, it’s some kind of therapy session. So, whether youre a reader or a writer, the blog option is a wonderful solution for people to switch data and games walkthrough easy and simple especially for you.
