The fire spec is best for players who don’t want to concentrate and focus all the time. It is a straight forward strategy that doesn’t require much strategy.

Since a fire mage will not fight many mobs at the same time, he will get overwhelmed less often. This can indeed be helpful with mage leveling.

One more thing though:

Although you’re a fire mage, you shoud still use Arcane or Frost spells in situations when it makes sense. I like to view spells as tools and if the opportunity arises, I love to use Blink or Frost Nova to immobilize my foes and get away.

For fast leveling I recommend the following strategy:

First mount up and then pull about five then Frostnova them and get some distance with Blink. Now nuke them down with your AoE spells: Arcane Explosion, Blast Wave and Dragons Breath.

The Cataclysm dawns loser now and many players start to form raid groups and parties to visit all the great places of Azeroth as we all know and love them – before the Cataclysm changes Azeroth forever. This is the best time to level all your toon to lvl 80 and then sit back and relax – and enjoyy Azeroth while it still lasts.

What should you do?

Use the remaining time to take advantage of the well-known quests or maybe take your time to visit the memorable places all over Azeroth that we all know and love without worrying about the Cataclysm.

I recommend you to find a good balance.

1. Garrote the first mob
2. Slice and Dice
3. Switch your target to the second mob
4. Use Blade Flurry
5. Get up to five combo points with Sinister Strike
6. Eviscerate
7. Switch to first target again

Basic Attack Rotation

Now you see why the basic rogue skill rotation is so important – even when you face more mobs you will still use it against the currently targeted mob. The circumstances may vary, the basics stay the same.

When facing three mobs, the attack rotation changes again:

1. Garrote the first mob
2. Slice and Dice
3. Switch target to second mob
4. Use Adrenaline Rush
5. Use Blade Flurry
6. Use Evasion
7. Sinister Strike until you have 5 combo points
8. Eviscerate
9. Target next mob and execute the basic attack rotation

Now, this is already quite difficult. But you are doing what many classes can’t do.

You can even kill of larger groups, but you have to decimate their numbers before you engage them in open combat. You can Sap the first target, then regen your energy before you take on the next mobs.

By doing this you only have to put up with three mobs at once and can simply use the rogue skill rotation that I’ve shown you.

There’s even a rogue skill rotation that can take on 5 mobs or more at the same time! Yes, it does take some time and practice, but that’s totally worth it. If you master the rogue skill rotations you will definitely save a lot of time!
