The Best GPS Accessories

Choosing the right GPS accessories involves more time and effort than simply walking into an electronics store and picking up the first thing you see. There is so much to consider and examine in this area of all the extras for your new toy.

One major preventative that will serve you well is doing some good research. If you do that the chances of you being satisfied with what you do buy will be much greater. Here are some solid tips that you can put to use right away if you’re currently looking for accessories.

For an AC-12V DC converter/adapter, the Garmin 010-10723-08 is a handy and versatile accessory for GPS systems. For one thing, you can put a charge on your GPS unit external to your vehicle. We run into all kinds of situations, and sometimes you just need to charge it inside for whatever reason. It takes the standard AC home receptacle power for charging purposes. If you’re on a trip, it’s no problem to charge it straight from your room where you spend the night. One accessory item that is almost mandatory for GPS systems/units is the adaptor. And this is one of those “areas” of extras where you will come across everyone and their brother selling them. We’ll bet someone elses farm that you received an adaptor (for vehicle use) when you purchased your unit. But one other kind we suggest is the home adaptor, to be used indoors, just because they are very convenient and you may not want to always charge in your car/truck. If you travel internationally, and you can’t be without your GPS, then if you don’t have an international adaptor – then you really need to get one.

If you’ve never owned a GPS before, then just know you will have to get something to mount it on. But just to be upfront about it, there is usually some kind of suction cup/mounting affair that comes with your unit. But… you can find some excellent mounting systems on the market that don’t begin to compare to the ‘free’ one you got. If you like the dash-mounted fighter jet look, you can find nice dash mounts. One hugely popular design is for portable applications for obvious reasons; people are active and like to take them on the go. Shopping for GPS accessories does not have to be a nightmare. Armed with research your search for accessories will be quite simple. Once you are armed with the research and have learned everything you can the rest is easy. Look at what is selling well through sales venues like Amazon.com (or Newegg.com). Get the low down from other people. The more information you have the more cash you will save.
