The Dependable Quality Of Hewlett-Packard’s 3600 Printer Series
The HP 3600 Series Printers, composed of the 3600n (Q5987A) and the 3600dn (Q5988A) laser printers, are ideal for a small office or LAN. These two models, while sharing some innovative HP features, got a few key differences. However, both are designed to meet the needs of today’s aggressive work environment, and both come with the vivid LaserJet 3600 replacement toner.
These two units share a common type of processor, with a speed of 360 MHz. This speed is sufficient for users to churn out a maximum of 17 ppm (pages per minute), for both monochrome and colored printing jobs. They’re designed with the user in mind, so they require only simple operation. Installation is also a breeze, as it only takes a few clicks on the mouse to install the printers’ software.
These days, it’s important for colored prints to stand out among the rest. For this series, HP has thrown in some innovative features to enhance your color printing tasks. For instance, there’s the brand new ColorSphere toner, which increases the range of available colors. Additionally, such technology allows for rendering of brighter and intense colors. For optimal result, HP recommends the use of their glossy papers with 5-layer coating.
There are only four cartridges that can be found in the machines. Such allows for easier maintenance each and every time. But there’s more. Contained in a single unit are the image drum and ColorSphere toner. With such, it’s easier to replace them and there are no messy spills to deal with. Additionally, a more consistent performance is enjoyed with the entire imaging system being replaced.
Media handling is extensive, as these machines can work with several different sizes and types. Media sizes from 3 inches x 5 inches to 8.5 inches x 14 inches are handled by the multipurpose tray. Those from 5.8 inches x 8.3 inches to 8.5 inches x 14 inches are handled by the standard 250-sheet tray. Compatible media types include paper (bond, plain, gloss, rough, recycled, etc.), card stock, transparencies, envelopes, labels, and others.
With two available connectivity options, the laser printers can be easily attached to a PC or the network structure of the office. Such options include a high speed USB 2 dock and fast Ethernet connectivity. Making it possible to connect to a network structure wirelessly is the optional 802.11b/g Wireless LAN accessory.
A few key differences exist between the units belonging to the 3600 series. When it comes to the inbuilt memory, the 3600n comes with a 64 MB memory, while it’s a 128 MB memory for the 3600dn. For duplex or dual-sided printing, the 3600n comes with a manual one, but it’s fully automatic for the 3600dn. With compact bodies, they can be easily propped up even on a small table in the workplace. The 3600n, with the cartridges installed, weighs only 59.6 lb and measures 15.7 in (width) x 17.7 in (depth) x 15.7 in (height). On the other hand, the 3600dn, when equipped with HP printer toner, tips the scale at 61.6 lb and measures 15.7 in (width) x 17.7 in (depth) x 16.7 in (height).
Simple to install, operate and maintain: those are basically what the HP 3600 Series Printers are all about. Best of all, both the 3600n and the 3600dn carries some innovative features HP has thrown in, as well as the high-quality HP Color LaserJet 3600 laser toner. These features make it easy for a small workplace to achieve printouts with standout quality, and meet varying productivity requirements.
