For instance, if you are driving in a city the signals can be influenced by the numerous massive buildings around you or if you are hiking in deep forest or ravine this can occur too. A SiRFStar III chipset or equivalent will prevent this or at the least improve it a lot.

When you’re purchasing GPS Tracking devices it’s crucial then to double-check which kind of chipset they have. Then judge whether it will be OK for your purposes. If you use your devices in the city or cover of any type then you’ll need a SiRFStar III chipset or similar, or otherwise a different kind should be fine, though may just be a little slower.
