Understanding The Samsung Ml 1440 Printer For Your Work Space

The Samsung ML 1440 printer is designed to produce quality black and white prints. It has a boxy shape, weighing about 24 lbs. Its print speed is 15 ppm that is complemented by the Samsung 1440 compatible toners at a 600 x 600 dots per inch resolution. The printer connects through its USB port and it is also compatible with a variety of operating systems such as Windows or Macintosh.

I bought the printer for $380 at the time, more for my daughter to use than for me. You see, her schoolwork often requires her to produce printouts of projects and reports. She’d be printing as much as 20-30 pages on a school night, usually in black and white. I didn’t want to sound critical on her usage because, after all, it is for school. But it bothered me on how much ink was getting used up. At times, I would find myself spending so much on Samsung laser toners. That is until a friend mentioned the Samsung printer.

Like I said, I was skeptical about it. It was a little expensive compared to my inkjet printer, not to mention that with the inkjet I could print in color. It didn’t very long for me to realize how good its features are. The boxy shape of the printer creates a sturdy appearance. It has paper storage under the printer, which is very convenient. The lack of extensions supporting the paper tray saves me from worrying I might break a part of it.

Installing the machine wasn’t as much a feat as I thought. The installation manual was very helpful for a non-computer savvy individual like me. I was relieved that the printer was compatible with Windows XP. Honestly, I forgot to consider that when I purchased the printer. After a few minutes, my new printer was ready.

In order to put my curiosity at bay, I conducted a little test. I created a document with the words “new printer” on it and set it up to size 10 font. I know the font was small, but I reasoned that if the output was good then so is the printer. Also, I did not want to use so much ink on just a test. Indeed, my new printer delivered 15 printouts in a minute.

I have very little idea on what the term “dots per inch” really means. All I know is that it has something to do with the print resolution. The 600 dpi of the printer must be good since the copies looked very sharp considering how small the font size was. There were no blotches of ink which made the prints very neat. This is definitely a plus on my daughter’s reports.

For me, the best feature is the “toner save”. It allows me to save up to 40% on toner. To be honest, since I discovered this feature, my daughter and I use it all the time. You see, even when we reduced it to 50%, the prints are still as good as the ones we got from our inkjet printer.

The Samsung ML 1440 printer has definitely made a good impression on me and my daughter. Its convenience, efficiency and economical use of toner were basically everything I needed in a printer. Sure, it doesn’t print color but it’s very rare I actually have the need to print in color.

When I needed to replace the Samsung 1440 replacement toner, my first thought was to search online for Samsung ML ink and toner.  Wow!  So many quality sites and the prices for cartridges were fantastic!
