What’s The Difference Between Remanufactured Cartridges And Brand Name Ones?
Q: I’ve just purchased a brand new printer and now I’m confused. I know that you can purchase brand name ink cartridges, but they’re extremely expensive. How come the remanufactured ink cartridges are so much cheaper than the brand name ones? Do they work as well as the brand name cartridges or would I be better off just purchasing the more expensive ones?
It used to be that you could only find one product created one way, so there was no confusion as to what you should or shouldn’t buy. Then some companies began making their products very expensive, so other companies figured out how to make the same products less expensively, allowing consumers to save money. But not all of these second hand companies created high quality products, making it difficult for consumers to figure out of they should purchase a remanufactured product or if they should purchase a brand name product.
There are a few different parts to this question. First, let’s look at the difference between remanufactured ink cartridges and brand name ink cartridges. When a company creates brand name ink cartridges, they are making it from the ground up. They have to make the holder for the ink as well as the connector plate. They have to make it all. When a company remanufactures a ink cartridges, they simply have to refill the ink reservoirs and to clean the connector plate so that it is ready to go for the next person. Because they don’t have to make the entire product, and are only responsible for refilling the ink, they do not have to spend much money making the product, which allows consumers to buy them at a huge discount.
When you purchase brand new ink cartridges from a brand name company, you are getting a cartridge that is filled with ink and that is guaranteed to work as well as it should. When you purchase remanufactured ink cartridges from the right company, you’re able to get a cartridge that is designed to work just as well as the original cartridge and, if you find the right company, that is also guaranteed to work as well.
There have been many people who say that remanufactured ink cartridges don’t work anywhere near as well as the original ink cartridges work. This is likely because they wound up purchasing a cartridge from a company who was in it for the money and not to make high quality products. There are, unfortunately, many companies out there who claim to sell genuine high quality remanufactured products but who actually sell products that should never have been sold in the first place. The easiest way to make sure that you get a good product is to make sure that the company that you’re going to be making the purchase from has standards that they adhere to and a good customer service department. As long as you make sure that the company is a good one, you can purchase remanufactured ink cartridges and feel good about it.
